Monks Down Saturday 28th Jan

Harting in a strong northerly is not for me, I don’t like the turbulence low down there so decide to give Monks Down a go with Danni. We arrived around midday to see a few in the air mostly on performance wings and a few people coming down with ears in or landing out the front so we decided to wait a bit. It soon dropped enough to give it a go and was pretty good and continuously flyable until we left aroundl 4pm. It was a bit top end with people getting pinned at times but OK even on my old beast. It was surprisingly thermic too.

One of the Gods got a 1000ft ATO and the lift band was working well out from the hill for mere mortals like me to have some fun. One Hangie there and about 15 PGs so not too crowded for a change. No pictures I’m afraid from me but take a look at the Wessex Eye in the Sky for a few there. Hopefully the one unlucky person who ended up with his wing draped across a tree has escaped by now!
